Mom at Last is a very emotional read, if you have gone through infertility, IVF, miscarriage, and thinking of adoption you will understand the thoughts and feelings Sharon Simons goes through during her book. I wanted to read this book because I have been through similar things myself and have considered adoption and I thought it would be interesting to read about it from another person’s point of view and not from the leaflets I receive from agencies that basically sugar-coat things and make it look like it’s a simple processes. Another thing that grabbed me was the authors name Sharon Simons, I wonder if we are distant relations as we share the same surname.
I was totally gripped to Mom at Last from the very beginning, I felt Sharon’s pain through losing her babies, her pain when things didn’t work out, but I also felt immense joy when she finally got her boys forever. I did laugh at the first time they had the boys on their own and they had diaper explosions too.
Mom at Last is a great book, especially when you are about to give up on your dreams of becoming a Mom, the way Sharon explains her journey to become a Mom will give anyone who reads it HOPE.
Well written and it was a pleasure to read. ~ Stressed Rach Review
